Just a couple of weeks and the EuroGames begin. The Organizing Committee of EuroGames Barcelona 2008, the volunteers and all the members of Panteres Grogues Sports Club, the organizer club of the EuroGames Barcelona 08 are working hard in order the city will be ready to welcome all the participants and visitors, not only at the sports competitions but at all the cultural events we have already prepared. More than 4,500 sports men and women from 31 European countries, as well as some participants from other countries like the USA, Thailand, Canada, Puerto Rico, Brazil or Australia, they will meet at the very first great eent on July 24th at the fantastic opening ceremony. This ceremony will take place in one of architectonic jewels of Barcelona, the Palau Sant Jordi, by Arata Isozaki.
 Palau Sant Jordi - The Olympic Pavillion The EuroGames are not just a sport competition, but a big cultural event. A complete cultural program with cinema, theater, museums, spaces of leisure and tourist areas will be waiting for the participants and visitors, with great discounts when showing your acreditation. While the participants will not be competing in their sports, they can visit the village, situated at Maria Cristina (next to Plaça Espanya), where everybody will be able to follow the aerobics master classes organized by some of the most famous Barcelona gyms, as well as musical concerts, bars and restaurants areas, information points for Barcelona and EuroGames, stands of our partners and stands from LGBT associations that will explain their projects to the visitors. If you are in Barcelona on thursday morning, we encourage you to attend the human rights and homophobia in sport conference. This conference will take place at the INEFC, very close from the Village during hursday 29th. |
