EuroGames Barcelona 08 communication campaign is carried out by personal stories
A straight family, a gay chef or a lesbian mother of a couple of twins are the models selected to represent the games of the diversity.

EuroGames Barcelona 08 has presented its communication campaign to get all the citizenship involved with the greater LGBT sport event in Europe, which will be celebrated in Barcelona next July, from the 24th to the 27th. With messages in favor of the diversity and the tolerance, this campaign shows real people doing their daily tasks or hobbies with fresh, close and enthusiastic atmosphere, in that way the protagonists define themselves.
Liz, Eva, Joan, Àgatha, Tobías, Aina, Dani, Meritxell, Arnau and Ernesto gave the rights to their image and personal stories to become models to collaborate with the EuroGames Barcelona 08 project. Posing for this campaign, they contribute with its small rice grain to spread this cultural and sports event to the city of Barcelona and to the world in order to collaborate with the EuroGames Barcelona 08.
Ernesto is a chef, swimmer and he consideres EuroGames Barcelona 08 something much more than sport and competition, it is a platform where people may feel proud of beeing gay throught something as much healthy as sport is. On the other hand, Meritxell and Dani, parents of a straight family and great defenders of the social rights, wanted to take advantage of beeing part of the EuroGames Barcelona 08 as an excuse to talk to their children about sexual diversity.
Àgatha, a lesbian mother of Edu and Aran, two 3 month twins affirms that with this communication campaign where real people without considering their origin, age or sexual condition, the organizers pretend to impel the participation. The 4 days ot the event will be days for sport, diversion, games, celebration and a good moment to meet new and old friends from all over Europe. Those who has never attended the EuroGames will have a great opportunity next July in Barcelona to enjoy dozens of activities.
The day of this presentation to the media, EuroGames Barcelona 08 counted with more than 3,000 registered sportsmen and women to come to Barcelona to participate in this great summer event. Registratin began last month of december and it is still possible to register through the site http://2008.eurogames.info until next the April 30th. During the 4 days of the competition, around 5,000 participants are expected toghether with more than 30,000 visitors, so for few days Barcelona will be the European capital of the sport and the diversity.
The EuroGames Barcelona 08 program, supported by the City council of Barcelona, and the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan governtment), includes not only sport activities, but also a lot of cultural activities, a conference on homofobia in the sport, concerts, theater, cinema, celebrations and other free activities in the EuroGames village to enjoy the city to the maximum. The games will be opened at the Palau Sant Jordi (olympic pavillion) and they will be closed with a great celebration at the Fòrum area.
One of the most charismatic activities of EuroGames Barcelona 08 will be the 10 km race on Sunday July 27th around the city streets. Information about the race can be found at the web page, but no limit of participants has been set, so we expect hundreds of participants from all the continent, as well as Barcelona citizens. The Forum online can be found at the web page as well. This Forum pretends to be an opinion platform in ordre to give voice to all those people who will not be able to be in Barcelona next July and that will help to prepare the contents of the Conference on Human rights, that will take place on July 24th.
Miquel Torres, general manager of EuroGames Barcelona 08, declares his feeling of proud for this communication campaign, that shows that diversity is in our daily social environment, with real people and real situations.
