More than 1,500 athletes have already registered to EuroGames Barcelona
08 since the organization opened registration of participants last
December 21, 2007. So far, the most requested sports have been tennis,
badminton, soccer, swimming and volleyball. The registration of
participants, which will remain open until April 30, will be made
through the website www.2008.eurogames.info. It comprised all
indications for registration in each of the competitions of the 28
sports disciplines, as well as the registration form, which can also
sign accompanying each participant wants to invite to the event. On the
same page, in addition, the organization offers the opportunity to book
accommodation in the Catalan capital.
Despite the fact that the only requirement is to be at least 18 years
old, citizens living in Europe have priority. Those interested in
participating in EuroGames coming from other countries from outside the
continent are registered on a waiting list to begin valued next April.
The Organizing Committee of EuroGames Barcelona 08 makes a special
appeal to the participation of women to achieve gender parity. Also on
the men and women transsexuals Europeans, especially after the adoption
of the Law on Gender Identity by the Spanish State, which allows anyone
to get all their personal documents with the name and sex with which
identifies, regardless of having gone through the operating room. The
Organizing Committee encourages addition, the registration of
heterosexual people, which in no way excluded from the games.
Registration for the EuroGames Barcelona 08 costs 55 euros for members
of clubs that are part of the European Gay and Lesbian Sports
Federation (EGLSF) and 66 euros for the rest of the participants. In
addition to participation in the competition that has been elected, the
recording includes tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies of
the event and a welcome kit.
